A quick clean or routine home cleaning does not ensure you that your home is clean. Sometimes, the regular house cleaning that you do is often focused on tidying or straightening and not cleaning at all. If that is indeed true, the question now is how to deep clean your home using thorough house cleaning methods.
There are a lot of things to do and steps that you can take. However, to make things easier, you can start by scheduling a deep cleaning routine at least twice every year. Usually, deep cleaning is done when the seasons change in Spring and Fall to open up or close up your home. Here are some steps you can take to deep clean your house now:
Start from Your Ceiling
Use a duster to remove dust and cobwebs from your ceiling. You can also remove dust from your bulbs and other lighting fixture with the use of a duster. Make sure to use a long microfiber duster to reach those edges you can’t see. If any of the fixtures have small parts like a Chandelier with candlelight style lighting, use a feather duster for that. If you have a ceiling fan use the special brush that is made for dusting the blades on the fan.
Clean Your Walls
Once you’re done with your hanging fixtures and ceiling, you can now start with your walls. If your walls are painted with latex, you can use a non-abrasive cleaner; select a gallon size bucket and fill it with water and at least five drops of your liquid dishwashing detergent. Wet a sponge or clean rag with the solution and wipe it on the walls to clean them. This also works on your door knobs.
Clean the Insides of Your Cabinets and Closets
Don’t forget to dust off your brick-a-brack before cleaning your cabinets. Declutter your closets, too, and maybe give some unused or unwanted items away. Don’t forget to always start from the insides of your cabinets and closets.
Degrease Your Kitchen Cabinets
Grease can build up over time, along with dust and other dirt. You can start degunking your kitchen cabinets by making a cleaning solution with two cups of warm water and at least five drops of dish soap. Dip a clean cloth into that solution and wipe down those cabinets. You should also use it to wipe that exhaust fan over your stove if you have one.
Clean Your Carpet
If you have carpets or rugs around the house, don’t forget to clean them thoroughly, too. However, the best advice is to let carpet cleaning experts do this because they have complete equipment and are experienced in this cleaning method. They’re capable of removing stains and spots, odor removal, in sanitizing your carpet, and a lot more. If it is a throw rug, you can usually take it to the laundromat where they will have large washers and dryers to handle those type of rugs.
Floor Cleaning
Remember that different floors also require various cleaning methods. If you have a hardwood floor, the recommended cleaning method is to use a commercial product made for it because water will be absorbed by the hardwood flooring and ruin it. If you have a laminate floor, you can make a cleaning mixture by mixing ¼ cup of mild cleaning soap with a bucket of water. Damp your microfiber mop and focus mopping on high-traffic areas in your home. If you’re unsure of how to thoroughly clean your floors, you can also ask the expert cleaners to help you deep clean it once or twice a year.
These are just some of the areas that you should focus on when deep cleaning your home. However, if this overwhelms you, then don’t hesitate to call a dedicated team of cleaning experts near you now!
